Principal's Message
Greeting Knight Families and Supporters!
Welcome to the '24-'25 school year. If history is any indication, I know that we are in for another year full of learning, growth, and fun memories to come; I cannot wait to work alongside you all in this! With this now marking my 3rd year serving as the proud Principal for White Tanks, I am beyond excited to contribute more of my experience and passion in this work with you all. We have been able to achieve some amazing outcomes over the last two years alone (i.e. opening a brand new campus, successfully transitioning 11 students in the '23-'24 school year, bringing all families to the site for programmed events, huge academic gains, and so much more), so I eagerly look forward to building on this with you all over this year to come. Please know that my door continues to remain open to collaboration, problem solving, and an overall listening ear, so don't be strangers!
For those new to our site and the work that we do, White Tanks Learning Center serves as Litchfield Elementary School District's alternative placement program. We provide a community for any Litchfield Elementary students who may not have been able to experience utmost success with other district provided supports alone. The bulk of our programming supports students with identified disabilities (special education, IEP eligible students) that markedly impact social/behavioral functioning in the school setting, with additional programming available for students who may need a more temporary behavioral alternative. We offer all students a markedly smaller school environment, higher staff:student classroom support model, and highly structured/supported programming to provide that next level of support for learners in Litchfield who are showing need for this. I would argue that our site also bolsters some of the most positive and passionate staff in education, with students and families quickly noting this and then experiencing the successes this fosters. We are undoubtedly unique in the work that we do, so I would welcome you to reach out with any questions that you may have about the programming and ensuring your child gets the support he/she needs to be most successful. I also invite you to explore this site to learn a little bit about what drives our work and some of the events and things we do :).
